The Bush

THE BUSH

As i walk down the path as children swooping past me, i swipe the sweat of my forehead and crouch and lay my hands on my knees. “Hurry up, we will be late to jump in the lake,”

“i’m coming i’m just tired.” I said taking deep breaths. The whole class was about turn to the left to go to our camp grounds. i was so worried that if i was going to die in the middle of the nature but

I yell out to my friends, “ Wait up guys i’m coming,”

“Hurry up man,” Then i started to faint i was going side to side, and seeing things that people couldn't see. I started to go on my knees and collapse like the two twin towers then . . . SLAM!! my face hits the ground , and then pitch black. . A few hours later  i start to get up, “where am i?” I was miles away from my group the only thing i couldn't forget that i was lost in the bush. I tried to remember if they went left or right. I walked  to the left, i was walking like a drunk person that just had over more can than you can think . I few minutes later i started to wonder if  i wouldn’t  survive and i would see my uncle in heaven. as i was  going to give up i found something on the ground.

When the sun was about to go down i found my classes foot steps i was so happy that i found them i was so, so, happy  i followed them and it lead me to the camp grounds.  “Hey Simon, simon,” are you alright you just stood there and i think you were day dreaming but the most important thing is that if you are alright?”

yes miss, i am.”

My Peace Poem

Peace is a life

peace is that we don't fight .

Peace will always be there

and  I swear.

Sometimes it comes,

sometimes it goes

Then randomly it shows.

Peace is quiet hearing nature

but sadly they make trees into paper

Lying down under a beautiful tree

And hearing the noise of a buzzing bee.

see the sunset going down

now its time to go home downtown.

The feature in this poem is rhym. For example: “Drift, drift upon the beach, Dead Mans Bay and dead mans beach. The pattern it goes in is AABB

What is the author’s purpose of the poem?

The author’s purpose is to raise awareness that driftwoods are pieces of solid log that travel around numerous places. Though they do not choose the path they are on because it is chosen for them by which why the world is pointing or where the storm is headed. Sometimes you need to choose your own pathway instead of other people directing you where to go. It’s not about how you do it, It’s about where you’re going in life.  

What are the key ideas in the poem?

The key idea in this poem is to follow your own pathway and to never let others push you back to the start, Which also means to never trust people that walk you through the wrong pathway.

Why do you think these are the key ideas?

“May drive them to the indifferent shore” Which means you can go wherever you want in life  without anyone telling you where to go.

How does the poem make you feel?

I love freedom because it makes me want to go anywhere in life not listening to anyone in the world, telling me where to go when I can just go anywhere I want. Walking through the correct pathway instead of the wrong path.

Why does it make you feel this way?

Because  I freedom and with poem being about drift wood and how it moves around you can discover new things and doorways to different lives.

How does the image in the poem support the way the poem makes your feel?

The driftwood drifting through the water and the water can lead you to many places even to  you dreams and hopes and beliefs. It’s a drifting wood drifting through freedom.

Rugby Tournament

We were ready and pumped for this special day, we all meet up in the hall got change and ready to go. We hopped on the bus going to Pt England Reserve. A few minutes later, We got out onto the field. We put our hands together, we say “ 123 BROTHERS!” We  vs  Roportuaka in our First game. We had 4 tries and they didn't get a try at all but we still kept it humble. Then Glen Brae, Panmure Brige, St Pius, Roportuaka and St Pius again. In The Finals we vs St Pius in the finals, they were a tough challenge but we won by a try.  We won the tournament and all the teams we verse lost but although we kept it humble. After that we went back to school and had hot chips.

My Ancestral Poem       

I am a proud Samoan Warrior.

A warrior that has pride,

A warrior that never gives up,

A warrior that works hard and tries to be the best.

My ancestors stay within me by flesh, bone and blood

They are always there, to cool me down they give me signs that they are around

My ancestors are the rock,

The shield that reflects my curiosity

My ancestors are the wind,

Howling to me our family secret

My ancestors are the waves,

Spiritually watching, guiding and protecting me.

To make sure I am safe.

My ancestors are at war, fighting for my sins that I must ask forgiveness

I will forever remember who made me, where I come from and remember especially my ancestors.

Persuasive Writing

T.V  Adverts of  Junk Food  Should Not Be Banned.

We think that t.v should not be banned.

My first reason is that  T.V ads of junk food is entertaining and that it we can eat at least once a week and then on the rest of the days we can do fitness.

 

My second reason is that people can watch adds that could help them with their fitness or they could do their hair or they could do things so they don’t waste their gas.

Finally  that  people can buy things that aren't in the shops.

So that is why people should not banned t.v. adverts of junk food.

My Reading Group Goals For Term 2

After sitting our e - asttle test this week we analysed our group pathways witch helped us identified our group reading goals for this term. here are my group reading goals:

WALT use skimming and scanning skills to locate specific information.

WALT  thinking about the ways the text is written (structure) to help us summarize the story in order using grammatically correct language and sentence structures.

WALT use a variety of comprehension strategies to help us read consistently for meaning.
