Teacher Birthday Song

It’s your birthday

This is a post of our teacher Mrs Kyla, birthday song, that willy and me made
maybe you can make a song for your teacher on their birthday

Use this link to go with the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OTwThXNX84

Lyrics:
First things, first, you’re our teacher
No wait, an inspirational leader (yes, a leader!)
And you’re the greatest in the bidness
We have proof, you know
And we’re the ones who are a witness (right time)
Most of the time we just call you “Miss” (but!)
There is nothing in the world you can’t fix (yeah!)
You fix lies, everyone, even six!
We tell you
‘Cause we know you have some tricks (have some tricks!)
Where we go if the marker pens were munted?
Even problems that made us ‘sgusted? (yuck!)
When opportunities were busted
Just one name that’s always trusted!

It’s your birthday!
Obviously, you know!
You’ve fixed many problems,
That just goes to show
That
It’s your birthday!
We made a song like a pro
Like you, that is a simile (no!)

Now, back in the ‘10,
Where I was just seven
You were my third teacher
‘Cause you know, what happened
Perhaps now I’m chatting
About you, our Captain,
even though you are a lady
But still, you know, it happens

Okay, you are the top
You just make us pop
With your amazing smile and talent
No wonder why we “Chop!”
And obvious, you’re cool
Everyday you’re at school
Don’t let us worry about getting drowned in that pool

Always say “Glue that, glue that”
and “Do that, do that…”
We know it’s all worth it, ‘cause we do that, do that
And sometimes we just get out of control
At least we all know that you’re ready to roll

It’s your birthday!
Everyone should know!
You’ve performed in front of us
No wonder why we vote…
You should take a vacay!
But wait, you are!
At Waitangi, which is far,
and you go Monday

Good behaviour
Taught us the right from wrong
Our learning’s higher
Thanks to you, we made a good song
Yeah
Check if our homework’s done
Your kind of style is technically fun
You won’t quit ‘til you’re done
Don’t even care if it takes an hour (hour, hour, hour, hour…)

Still rocking that, Miss Kyla?
Got the whole classroom standing with ya
Our writing plan was shocking,
Then you solved it with a talk, and some blocking
Imagine this disaster
What would the world be without ya?
At least you’re our stripper
Stripping off chat might’ve changed us for the better

It’s your birthday
You already know
You beat the others
No offence, you know…
Happy Birthday!
You are such a pro
But here’s a question:

Is it awkward that I haven’t mentioned him at all?

Cyber Smarts

Today I made this picture on Picmonkey, reason why because our class were doing a lesson on Cyber Smarts, and we found on pic monkey that there were no terms or conditions and no age restriction. So thats why I posted this.
Thank you

Fishing Practices

Fishing Practices

Fishing practises have been around for many years. There are different types of fishing practices like Dredging. Dredging is a fishing method when you gather a steel cage with metal teeth at the bottom of the cage. The teeth is good for digging into the ground so they can pick up the shellfish.

Dredging is a fishing method that you can use but only if you have the right equipment. Dredging is also similar to trawling. It is similar because you are dragging is net or cage across or in the sea. Dredging is very damaging to the seafloor because it destroys sea life habitats and also sea creatures that might live in the sand.

Long lining is another fishing method but only if you have the right things to use. Long lining is a fishing technique. It uses a long line, called the main line with a hook called the baiting hook attached. The length of the line is generally  from 1.6km (1 mile) to as long as 100 km (62 miles). A long line is a fishing line usually made of monofilament.

This Last fishing practises is one of the most dangerous fishing practises, This is called Spearfishing. This type of fishing is got the most incidents than other Fishing practices.  click this link and you will see why spearfishing is dangerous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVRId2FOAxk

So as you have wondered by now fishing is a really dangerous sport you have to make a lot of sacrifices to fish. Some people are away from their families for months and even years. But it helps keeps this world a safer and better environment. For our community but remember keep kaimoana for the future.

The Speical Guest

Today we had a special guest for Duffy assembly. His name was Joshua, he came in to share his speech with us, Joshua was a student from Mt Roskill College. Three years ago he shared a speech with his school, after saying that people from all around New Zealand were inspried. He was a guest on Cambell live, So actually it went global around the world. Joshua came into our school with his brother, to share his speech and why reading is cool. He also shared his grandfathers story back in the days. His grandfathers name was Su'a, he was a strong and short man. One day his little sister was crying, He would always protect his little sister. She said, "That man hurt me." He said,"don't worry i will take care of this." So he went of on his journey through the islands of Samoa looking for this man. When the sun was behind the horizon he saw the man, he grab a rock and  strike him. He felt sad, His sister saw what he did. She said, "Su'a, you better leave Samoa or else you will go prison". So Su'a  pack his things, said his by's to his family and went on a plane. The plane landed in place could New Zealand. He unpacked his stuff, he only had a singlet, two coins and a bible. He would promise him self to read everyday and work hard. He would do this everyday (247). Two years went past, after working hard and reading everyday he built a house, Married a beautiful Samoan woman, reunited with his family, had six kids, eight grandchildren and one of them was Joshua. So that what happened today, thank you for reading

Legend Story

This is me and my buddy Taylor's draft for "How The Turtle Got Its Shell." We thought about it but we didn't really like our story, so we change it all around. Read our story bellow and give us some feed back and feed forward. Hope you guys enjoy.

How the turtle got its shell

A long time ago, in the depths of the ocean there lived a young fragile, sea turtle who was indeed very rusty looking. Living next to him was his big boastful sea snail neighbour. Both of them were quite the opposite but they had one thing in common, they were both scared of the King of Sharks.

One day when Sea Snail was boasting about his shell as usual, along came the King of Sharks. Sea snail didn't see this because he was looking at his wonderful shell.  Suddenly, the King Of Sharks made a loud roar and gave sea snail a big jump."Ahhh!" screamed sea snail, "help me!"While this was happening, sea turtle heard the little yelp. He quickly went to help sea snail who was in very big danger.

Just as the King Of Sharks was about to take a big bite out of sea snail, sea turtle kicked the King Of Sharks in the nose with his feet. The King Of Sharks yelped out loud, making a very loud noise and then dozing off to sleep, for that was what happened when you kicked the sharks in the nose."You saved me! But my shell has gotten flat when the King Of Sharks came, and tried to eat me! Here you can have it! I don't want it anymore! I can get a new one," said sea snail gratefully.  "Thanks," sea turtle said excitedly. From that day on, sea turtle always had his beautiful curly shaped shell. He was impressed about it but never boasted. That's how sea turtle got its shell.
